Phobos is the monthly journal of Wyas and as been in
continuous print without a break since Wyas was first born. It is without doubt
one of - if not the - best Amateur Society journals in the U.K.
Phobos is distributed free to members and
should be available the week preceding the month of publication. Phobos may be
purchased by non-members. The current price for an ordinary issue is £1. Higher
charges may be made for special or commemorative issues. WYAS reserve the right
to alter prices at any time without prior notice.
NOTES FOR CONTRIBUTORS:
Unsolicited articles are welcomed. All
material intended for publication in a particular month should be received no
later than the 10th of the preceding month. Articles are accepted in good faith
and on an understanding that their publication does not constitute a breach of
copyright. The size of each issue is limited, articles will be published at the discretion
of the editor. Articles may be edited or held for publication in a future issue.
Please supply articles in Microsoft Word by
e-mail or 3.5" floppy disk. (font size 12 in Times New Roman, titles in
size 12 bold)
Written articles should be legible and
preferably printed. Articles may be downloaded to the folder named 'phobos' on
the PC in the observatory, but please leave a note of the file name. Include any
images/diagrams/tables etc within the text. Please check your articles before
handing them in for publication. It will not always be possible to check all the
spellings of astronomical terms and peoples names. Articles will usually appear
as received. Please include your name and address and telephone number or e-mail
with all articles.
